Job Description

The University Hospital in Linköping, located in the south of Sweden is looking for a specialist in nuclear medicine. 

Main responsibilities and expectations

As a specialist in nuclear medicine (PET/CT), you will work with advanced diagnostic imaging, including PET/CT and SPECT-CT. Your tasks will include supervising examinations, interpreting results, and writing medical reports. The examinations cover areas such as skeletal scintigraphy, thyroid scintigraphy, brain imaging, and general oncology, as well as cardiac imaging using SPECT-CT and PET/CT.

You will play an important role in the development of the PET/CT unit, which has recently expanded to include cardiac PET/CT. The role also involves close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including radiology, medical physics, and research departments.

You will be part of a university hospital environment with strong involvement in research, development of new diagnostic methods, and collaboration with the university. Teaching and supervision of medical students and resident doctors are also part of the role.

What’s expected of you

To have a specialist title in nuclear medicine, including PET/CT.

To have clinical experience with PET/CT and SPECT-CT, including interpretation and reporting.

To have experience with whole-body CT interpretation.

To show strong interest in research, preferably with publications in nuclear medicine or PET/CT.

To have an interest in teaching and supervising students and residents.

To be a team player with strong communication skills.

Ability to complete the intensive Swedish language course (MediCarrera program) is required.
